How we do it
From collection to community impact
Bikes4Freedom follows a structured, end-to-end approach to ensure that every bicycle creates lasting value. From collecting durable bicycles in the Netherlands to shipping, distributing, and integrating them into local Bike Shops in Namibia, each step is designed to build sustainable systems. By combining logistics, local partnerships, and community-based workshops, we turn donated bicycles into long-term mobility, jobs, and opportunity.

B4F collects durable 'simple' bicycles, along with tools and spare parts, donated in the Netherlands or purchased for a small fee.

B4F ships these bikes from a depot in the Netherlands, by container with a transport partner to Walvis Bay, Namibia.

In Namibia, the bicycles are transported to a distribution partner.

The distribution partner organizes the distribution to local 'Bike shops'.

Bicycles are repaired in the ‘Bike Shops’ when needed. The shop manages organization, sales, and customer service, and has the skills and knowledge for repairs, sales, and cycling lessons.

B4F partly takes care of tools, workshop equipment and parts.

The shops sell these bikes for a consumer price consisting of customs clearance costs, transport costs within Namibia, repair costs and fixed markup for the ‘Bike Shops’

The shops are the community’s main hub for bicycles, offering sales, repairs, and jobs. By selling bikes, we help create a sense of ownership, pride, and commitment.

Make an impact that moves communities
Turn mobility into opportunity
Every bicycle you help provide creates access to education, work, and healthcare for someone in need. Your support enables us to collect, transport, and distribute bicycles while strengthening local Bike Shops and communities. Together, we can turn simple bicycles into lasting change.
