We are Bikes4Freedom
An initiative that brings bicycles to rural Namibia
Our organization provides durable, simple bicycles in regions where mobility is often the missing link to education, healthcare, and income. By working with local partners and community Bike Shops, donated bicycles are turned into lasting opportunity, dignity, and local impact.
We bring bicycles to people like Alex.
[Tekst] When daily life means walking long distances, time and energy are lost before the day even begins. A bicycle changes that. It shortens distances, increases income opportunities, and improves access to school, healthcare, and work.
This is how we do it

1: Collecting Bicycles and Parts
B4F collects durable 'simple' bicycles, along with tools and spare parts, donated in the Netherlands or purchased for a small fee.

2: Shipping Bikes to Namibia
B4F ships these bikes from a depot in the Netherlands, by container with a transport partner to Walvis Bay, Namibia.

3: Transport to Distribution Partner
In Namibia, the bicycles are transported to a distribution partner.

4: Distribution to Local Bike Shops
The distribution partner organizes the distribution to local 'Bike shops'.

5: Repair and Service in Shops
Bicycles are repaired in the ‘Bike Shops’ when needed. The shop manages organization, sales, and customer service, and has the skills and knowledge for repairs, sales, and cycling lessons.

6: Tools and Equipment Support
B4F partly takes care of tools, workshop equipment and parts.

7: Affordable and Sustainable Pricing
The shops sell these bikes for a consumer price consisting of customs clearance costs, transport costs within Namibia, repair costs and fixed markup for the ‘Bike Shops’

8 :Community Hubs for Bicycles
The shops are the community’s main hub for bicycles, offering sales, repairs, and jobs. By selling bikes, we help create a sense of ownership, pride, and commitment.
