Ambition of Bikes 4 Freedom
Bikes4Freedom follows a structured, end-to-end approach to ensure that every bicycle creates lasting value. From collecting durable bicycles in the Netherlands to shipping, distributing, and integrating them into local Bike Shops in Namibia, each step is designed to build sustainable systems. By combining logistics, local partnerships, and community-based workshops, we turn donated bicycles into long-term mobility, jobs, and opportunity.
5000 cycles
Bikes4Freedom's ambition is to transport 5,000 bicycles (20 containers) to Namibia in the first 3 years and distribute them there.
20 to 25 thousand
The bicycles will have a positive impact on 20 to 25 thousand people.
2/3 women - 1/3 men
Two-thirds of the bikes will be allocated to women and one-third to men, aiming to reduce the disadvantages faced by women and girls.

The bicycles have a direct positive impact on 7 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
1. No poverty
Bicycles are valuable tools to expand business and increase a household’s income (e.g. Milk)
2. Zero hunger
Access to market, Mill diary centre - Improving food security for the community (Milk, Grains, Meat)
3. Good healt and wel being
Access to bicycles results in better access to health facilities and better reach for health workers
4. Good quality education
Freeing up girls time for ‘women’s work’ household chores
5. Gender equality
Providing bicycles to living far from school improves attendance, performance and retention
6. Clean water and Sanitation
Bicycles make it easier and safer to reach water sources and carry larger quantities of water back home
10. Reduced inequalities
With a bicycle, all riders are empowered to overcome the barrier of distance to enjoy greater freedom of choice
